As I approach an older age, I will wear lace, lace, lace.
No, not just the weathered and beige, all kinds and colors and styles; even the funny ones that bring on big smiles!
I will wear it as much and as often as I can,
some made by machine and some made by hand.
While making my outer shell look gentle and refined,
it is covering the flaws of old age and time.

Slippery When Wet - Soap and sundries
When I bathe
or even clean my home, I find it necessary to use products which are pretty and
fragrant. I even use a pretty pink broom and mop. The
category of Slipper When Wet is where you will find the fun and fragrant
bath items.
I
enjoy experimenting while making products, so there is no
guarantee that I will duplicate a batch of soap exactly. Most of my
soaps are made from scratch and made the old fashioned way. This process is called
the cold process method, and it is where lye and oils suponify when mixed together. I use
lard or tallow along with sunflower oil and coconut oil in most of the
soaps. Tallow or lard makes a harder bar of soap which
will lather more and last longer. To me, soap has to lather to clean.
Tallow and lard are byproducts from the meat of a cow or pig. I do
understand the choice not to use products derived from animals.
After a
batch of soap is made, it has to cure for two or more weeks. This
curing allows for the soap to harden and the PH to slightly lower.
There
are pre-made soap mixes that can be melted and poured into pretty
molds along with additives of herbs, colors, and fragrance.
These are much easier to make and they do not have to be cured. I do not use these. They do make pretty soaps, but I want to make mine from scratch in my home kitchen. This other method is called melt and pour.
I use natural or USD/USDA
approved coloring, herbs, spices, powders, cosmetic grade
glitter, mica, pigment, and clays, along with fragrance oils, and essential
oils. Fragrance oils are less expensive, but they are not derived from
the plant as essential oils are.
Some of my soaps and lotions are 100% natural, some are almost all natural, and some are vegan. I list the ingredients in the description and also add ingredient labels on each product.
Testimonials:
"I love the way your soap makes my skin feel. Most soaps dry out your
skin. Move over proactive, use Dawn's Beauty Bar!" Tracie, Wichita, KS
"Baby Me turned the water blue and does not stain the tub." Katie, 5 years old, Wichita, KS
"The array of fragrances you use keeps me delighted with choices. All your products make me feel feminine." Heather, Wichita, KS
Cautions:
The oils in sugar and salt scrubs will make the tub or shower floor slippery. Please be cautious and wipe out the tub before someone else steps in and slips.
A list of ingredients is on the item's tag and also in the item
description. As with any soap or lotion, stop using it if a rash or
irritation occurs and consult your doctor if necessary. If you have nut allergies you may want to consider not using soaps with nut oils such as shea butter. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to do a patch test before regular use.
With soap colorings, there may be a slight transfer of color onto light
colored washcloths. If this is a problem for you, please use a puff or
darker colored washcloth. The colorings will not stain you if the soap is
properly rinsed off. Activated charcoal will leave a gray color on washcloths.
There is an ingredient list and description of purpose on this website. Please refer to that list for more information.
