Cottage Cozy You are viewing a crocheted tea cozy made with homespun wool yarn.  (Yes, I spun the wool on my favorite spinning wheel!)  The roof was made with a more of a brownish colored Shetland wool and a few flecks of color.  It is designed to look like a thatched roof.  The bottom of the cottage is made with a grayer colored Shetland wool and a turquoise colored wool randomly added.  The turquoise wool is from another kind of wool.  The idea for the bottom of the cozy is to look like a weathered wood and a little of the turquoise paint left.  Both the roof and the main body of the cottage are felted, making the wool much thicker than a regular crocheted tea cozy.  The cozy is lined with cotton fabric and inside the lining is a cotton batting allowing for extra warmth.  The outside flowers, windows, and doors of the cozy is decorated with needle felting using wool.  A little grey colored wool is coming out of the chimney to look like smoke.
